The Graphite Set + Emperor Yes

Wednesday 5th June 2013
Show: 7:30 PM Doors: 7:30 PM

Sebright Arms | 31-35 Coate Street, London, E2 9AG, United Kingdom

To celebrate the launch of her ‘These Streets EP’ Lily Buchanan AKA The Graphite Set presents an evening of music, with her own show preceded and followed by bands led by the two co-producers of the EP, Ed Seed and Ash Gardner.

The Graphite Set features Lily’s distinctive and powerful voice which soars over dark psych-folk melded to art rock (and roll), sounding like a sonic synthesis of The Electric Prunes, Julie Driscoll, Nico, PJ Harvey, Jefferson Airplane and ‘She’s Cracked’-era Modern Lovers. (She’s been told…)

Emperor Yes is fronted by Ash Gardner of the wonderful House of Strange studio with Adam Betts (of Three Trapped Tigers) and Hugo Sheppard. A huge exuberant psychedelic sound, with obvious Flaming Lips influences, and cosmic themes. Their recent single Cosmos was played by Annie Mac on R1 and exciting moves are afoot.

Ed Seed leads Stats. He says: ‘Stats are a modern rock band. Stats are you on the internet and Stats are also work. Stats can't dance and Stats don't take drugs. Stats have big plans tomorrow’.
